Family Pilgrim's Progress
Published in Hardcover by Tyndale House Pub (October, 1983)
Authors: John Bunyan, Jean Watson, and Vic Mitchell
Average review score:

Great Pilgrim's Progress introduction for kids
Having studied and taught the Pilgrim's Progress to my adult Sunday School class, I was happy to find this children's version to read to my kids. My two sons, ages 4 and 7, were enthralled as we read a chapter a night for 11 evenings. The illustrations are extremely well done and captivate young imaginations. The storyline is true to the original, with no sugarcoating. Obviously, it is best for a parent to have read and understand the actual book before reading this version with their kids. That way, they'll be able to elaborate and teach by asking leading questions (Why did the people at Vanity Fair kill Faithful? Why did Christian have to go through the Valley of the Shadow of Death?) For adult readers, the best version I have found is one produced by Bunyan Ministries...

Fast Forward Leadership: How to Exchange Outmoded Practices Quickly for Forward-Looking Leadership Today
Published in Hardcover by Financial Times Prentice Hall (15 June, 1999)
Authors: Louellen Essex and Mitchell Kusy
Average review score:

fast forward leadership
This is an excellent book. I highly recommend it to all managers. The authors researched companies & individuals that are known for excellent leadership. They propose 7 outmoded leadership practices that need to be 'exchanged' for forward-looking innovative practices. I also heard Mitch speak last week on these 7 practices -- it was very insightful. One topic I found very helpful was the discussion of the 3 generations that are coexisting in the workplace. We have the Gen Xers, baby-boomers, & the traditionalists -- each group is motivated differently. The book even details interview questions for each group that are very helpful. This is MUST reading.

The Feline Patient: Essentials of Diagnosis and Treatment
Published in Paperback by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Publishers (October, 2002)
Authors: Gary D. Norsworthy, Mitchell A. Crysta, Sharon Fooshee Grace, Larry P. Tilley, Mitchell A. Crystal, and Sharon Fooshee
Average review score:

Essential volume for the household that includes cats
I can't recommend "The Feline Patient" highly enough. The information in this book has saved the lives of two of my cats. Soon after I bought this book, my 15-year-old Maine Coon cat became very ill, was diagnosed with diabetes, yet the ever-increasing doses of insulin that were prescribed didn't seem to improve his condition. The more insulin he was given, the higher his glucose level became. Concerned, I began to research the problem on my own, using this book, and hypothesized that my cat had not only diabetes, but also chronic pancreatitis, and that he was not only unable to produce sufficient insulin, but was also unable to effectively use the insulin he was given. Based upon the information in this book, I requested that several other diagnostic tests be performed. These tests confirmed my hypotheses, my cat's treatment has been revised, and I now look forward to more happy months and years with him.

While grooming my ten-year-old Cymric, I felt some very small, hard bumps in her back. These were approximately the size of an ordinary matchhead. Although they were very, very small, they were painful, and she cried when I touched them, even lightly. From having read this book, I knew that any unexplained bump or lump beneath the surface of a cat's skin should be evaluated by a veterinarian immediately. My cat has required two surgeries, but thanks to early detection and treatment, her prognosis is far better than it would otherwise have been.

"The Feline Patient" was written for veterinary practitioners, so the lay person will find the vocabulary challenging, and will probably require a good veterinary dictionary as a companion to this book. Nevertheless, the person who loves and cares for feline family members will find that the benefits greatly outweigh that challenge.

Thank you, Amazon.com, for making this book available to the general public!

Final Judgment
Published in Hardcover by NTC/Contemporary Publishing (February, 1978)
Author: Mitchell Benjoya
Average review score:

Fianl Judgment
Reading Benjoya's latest book, "No Safe Place" left me scrambling to find everything penned by him. Unfortunately, he has only written two books. "Final Judgement" is a spellbinding tale of a brilliant criminal defence lawyer who becomes obsessed with the injustice of the system that he is so much a part of. Finally he takes law into his own hands and appoints himself jury, judge and executioner. Suspenseful, gripping....I couldn't put it down.

A Marvelous Mystery
I just finished reading Finding Zola, and felt compelled to let the author and future readers know what an enjoyable read it is. The story held my interest from the first page.

I was impressed with the clever/flawless ways Ms. Mitchell wove all the little details together. Her vivid descriptions and dialogue are extraordinary; they made me feel I was there with Crystal. The culprits were a total surprise to me, and the dramatic scenes that followed their revelation had me on the edge of my seat. I predict that this novel will win acclaim, and have a very long shelf life.

Signed,
A fan

The First Texans
As a teacher of Elementary School social studies, this book has become an invaluable resource for my classroom. The format is easily read and understood by students. It has a wealth of information about each Texas Indian tribe. This book is much easier to read and understand than any other book on the subject that I have found. A must-have for every classroom and library. A classroom set makes it much easier for students to do their research, since they fight over a single copy!
